The side events at PETRONAS Le Tour de Langkawi 2023 are not there as just a sideshow to the main event but play an important role in the ecosystem of the annual race.
The various booths managed by sponsors and also retailers alike add not only colours but also give visitors the chance to mill around before the start of the race or in anxious anticipation of the race finish.
And this year, the side events were as varied as they had been in previous editions where Title Sponsor PETRONAS was the main focus with their open back truck complete with their traditional livery, selling t-shirts and various knick-knacks.
Other than PETRONAS, there were also booths from the Terengganu State Government and the Ministry for Youth and Sports.
PACE, the merchandise supplier this year, is perhaps the most visited store which is really no surprise as visitors look to get at least memorabilia of the event that passes through their towns and cities.
There’s also Bubbles, the sponsor for natural mineral water this year alongside a store from Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team as well as a BMX Freestyle / Pushbike Clinic for the youngsters.
Visitors can also quench their thirst at Gloria Jeans Coffee or at Peloton Café for a cuppa while at the same time grabbing a bite at 1901 Hot Dog.
A day out with the family could be so much fun.
