LTdL 2023 - STAGE INTRODUCTION

Stage 2 sees riders revisiting the iconic Drawbridge, this time as the ceremonial start venue, for another day of hard riding for almost 200km. The stage is a mostly flat stage, with rolling sections throughout, and both the days’ climbs are designated Category 4’s. The route once again avoids the coastal roads and should provide riders with cooler conditions inland. A breakaway continues to be likely, and the last 50km provides ample opportunity for the sprinter lead out trains to rein in any aspiring stage winners in the breakaway. A technical finish with two wide corners in the final kilometre means that riders will have to keep focused all the way to the end at Kota Bharu.
