KUALA LUMPUR: Team TotalEnergies Pro Cycling will be fielding their strongest line-up – signaling their firm intent to dominate the 30th edition of Le Tour de Langkawi 2026 (LTdL2026), which flags off on 27 September.
In their debut appearance last year, Joris Delbove captured the individual General Classification (GC) crown. Recognizing this year’s tougher mountain stages, the French ProTeam setup has submitted a 6-rider roster stacked with climbing prowess, led by Jordan Jegat, who finished 10th overall in July’s Tour de France (TdF).
Alongside the 27-year-old Jegat, Team Manager Thibaut Mace has named Geoffrey Bouchard, 34; Alan Jousseaume, 28; Mathis Le Berre, 25; Nicola Marcerou, 23; and Valentin Retailleau, 26.
Jegat, who joined TotalEnergies in 2024 and is expected to move to WorldTeam Lidl-Trek next season, turned heads by placing 28th in the 2024 Tour de France before securing back-to-back 10th-place overall finishes in 2025 and 2026.
Beyond his impressive showings at the premier Grand Tour, the Bignan-born rider claimed his maiden professional victory at the Classic Grand Besançon Doubs earlier this year, alongside a 3rd-place GC finish at the Tour du Jura and 4th overall at the Presidential Tour of Turkiye.
TotalEnergies can also rely on Bouchard, a former AG2R WorldTeam rider with eight Grand Tour appearances and three Monuments under his belt, highlighted by King of the Mountains (KOM) titles at the 2019 Vuelta a Espana and 2021 Giro d’Italia.
The Dijon-born rider who initially announced his retirement last year following a collarbone fracture at the Tour of Luxembourg before returning on a one-year deal with TotalEnergies, will hang up his wheels at the end of this season.
Supporting the GC charge alongside Jegat and Bouchard is Le Berre, a former Arkea-Samsic rider with four Grand Tour and six Classic starts.
Le Berre has maintained a packed 2026 racing campaign, taking 7th at La Roue Tourangelle, 8th at the Tour du Limousin, 61st at Paris-Nice, and 76th at the Tour de France, alongside starts at Spring Classics including Liege-Bastogne-Liege, La Fleche Wallonne and the Amstel Gold Race.
Jousseaume, Marcerou and Retailleau round out the squad as versatile all-rounders. They are expected to pace Jegat, Bouchard and Le Berre into the early slopes or manage the peloton to neutralize breakaway threats.
Jousseaume (16th overall at LTdL2025) and Marcerou (64th) were key domestiques for Delbove last year. Their familiarity with the route, tropical climate and Asian racing dynamics gives the Vendee-based squad a distinct edge.
LTdL2026 Secretariat Chief Operating Officer (COO) Emir Abdul Jalal noted that TotalEnergies is no stranger to the race, having featured under previous title sponsors such as Bonjour, Brioches La Boulangere, Bouygues Telecom and Europcar.
“Even without defending champion Delbove, TotalEnergies’ six-rider roster clearly signals their intent to defend their GC title, while targeting the King of the Mountains jersey and Team Overall classification.
“Fans can look forward to seeing their tactical play unfold across three grueling summit finishes at Gunung Jerai, Cameron Highlands and Genting Highlands,” said Emir in a statement today.
Classified as a 2.ProSeries event, LTdL2026 flags off with Stage 1 from Shah Alam to Kampar on 27 September and concludes with Stage 8 from Muar to Putrajaya on 4 October, covering a total distance of 1,285.5km.
LTdL2026 is co-organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) through the National Sports Council (MSN), in partnership with the Malaysian National Cycling Federation (MNCF).
